Domain Marketplace Terms

1. What the marketplace is

The IDA Domain Marketplace lets idaserver.net customers sell domain names to other idaserver.net customers. IDA LIMITED is an intermediary, not the owner of the domains listed. We hold the buyer's payment, move the domain between accounts once it clears, and pay the seller the balance after our fee.

These terms sit alongside our Terms of Service, which continue to apply.

2. Who can take part

• You need an active idaserver.net account in good standing.
• Sellers may only list domains that are held in their own account with us and are in Active status.
• You may not bid on, or make an offer on, your own listing.

3. Seller terms

• Ownership. By listing a domain you confirm that you are its registrant, that it is free of any dispute, charge or third-party claim, and that you are entitled to sell it.
• Review. Every listing is reviewed by us before it goes live. We may decline a listing without giving a reason.
• Accuracy. The description must be accurate. Do not state traffic, revenue or trade mark rights you cannot evidence.
• Price changes. You may change the price of a fixed-price listing while it is live. You may not change the starting price of an auction once a bid has been placed.
• Withdrawal. You may cancel a listing at any time before a sale completes — except an auction that has already received a bid, which is binding on you.
• Obligation to transfer. Once a buyer has paid, you must complete the transfer promptly and give us any authorisation code we ask for. Failing to transfer a paid domain is a breach of these terms.
• Renewal during a sale. Keep the domain renewed while it is listed. A domain that expires mid-sale is your responsibility.

4. Buyer terms

• Offers and bids are binding. If a seller accepts your offer, or you win an auction, an invoice is issued to you automatically.
• Payment window. You have the number of hours shown on the listing — 24 by default — to pay that invoice. If you do not, the invoice is cancelled and the domain is released; repeated failures may cost you access to the marketplace.
• What you pay. The agreed price plus the domain transfer fee for that extension, shown before you commit.
• What you get. The domain moved into your idaserver.net account. For most extensions the transfer adds a further year to the registration period; a small number of extensions do not work that way, and the listing will say so where we know.
• No cooling-off. A completed domain purchase cannot be refunded, because the transfer to your account cannot be reversed. This is an exception to the 30-day period in our Terms of Service.

5. Auctions

• An auction runs from the moment we approve the listing until its end time. The clock does not start while the listing is waiting for review.
• Each bid must be at least the current bid plus the bid step shown on the listing.
• A seller may set a hidden reserve price. If the highest bid is below it, the domain is not sold and no invoice is issued.
• Anti-sniping. A bid placed in the final minutes extends the end time by the same number of minutes, so an auction cannot be won in the last second.
• Bidders are shown to each other under a number, not by name. The seller does not see who is bidding.
• Bids cannot be withdrawn. Do not bid an amount you are not prepared to pay.

6. Fees and payout

• Our commission is the percentage shown on the listing page at the time of sale. It is deducted from the seller's proceeds, not added to the buyer's price.
• The buyer separately pays the domain transfer fee for the extension.
• The seller is paid as account credit on their idaserver.net account once the transfer is confirmed complete. That credit can be used for any of our services, or withdrawn on request subject to the checks we are required to make.
• Each party is responsible for its own taxes on a sale.

7. Transfer of the domain

Transfers are carried out by us between accounts on our platform, and we confirm completion before the seller is credited. Some extensions impose their own restrictions — most commonly a 60-day lock after a registration or a previous transfer. Where a lock applies, the sale completes when the lock lifts, and we tell both parties.

8. If something goes wrong

• Buyer paid, seller does not transfer. We hold the payment until the transfer completes. If the seller does not deliver, we refund the buyer in full, including the transfer fee.
• Dispute over ownership. If a credible third-party claim is made against a listed domain we suspend the listing until it is resolved.
• Suspected manipulation. Bidding on your own listing through another account, or coordinating bids to inflate a price, ends the auction and the account.
• Open a ticket for anything that needs our involvement. We keep a full audit trail of listings, offers, bids, invoices and transfers.

9. Prohibited listings

• Domains you do not hold, or hold in another provider's account.
• Domains that infringe a trade mark, or that were registered to exploit someone else's brand.
• Domains subject to a UDRP or similar proceeding, or to a registry suspension.
• Domains used for phishing, malware or other unlawful activity.

10. Liability and law

We provide the marketplace as an intermediary service. We do not warrant the value, the traffic history or the future performance of any domain, and a sale is between the seller and the buyer. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Service. These terms are governed by the laws of Malta.
